LOVE it!

Me personally I enjoyed the movie in a so-bad-its-good way, and I did always wonder what the koopalings could have looked like. Think you'll draw any of the others?

LOL So accurate. That expression. She really needs to be holding that wand though, so she can hit people over the head for being impertinent. She was the only one who seemed to wield it like it was HERS.

They actually had a character for the film that was ultimately not featured onscreen, but who I feel looked quite a bit how they might have depicted a Wendy character: [link]

The above link is to the portfolio of Joseph Porro, the film's costume designer.

I've seen that once somewhere, that's interesting. Wonder if they did pull anything from her on that, it seems possible.

If they were planning on incorporating a Wendy-inspired character in the movie, I have to wonder again about Iggy and Spike. I suspect quite a bit that they weren't originally cousins of Koopa prior to the final script.

I always thought that they were Koopa's cousins in the sense that they shared a common ancestor rather than common grandparents.

Other Koopalings were mentioned in the early scripts, though not all of them. It's debatable whether Koopa's alias as "Larry Lazard" counts as a reference to Larry.

That's a very good point.

I loved the film's sense of interpreting game characters. It would have been interesting to see how they would have approached others in the unproduced sequel.

Do you think you'll be drawing more characters yourself in this line?

Yeah, I think so too. The ones I liked the best were the ones who were more faithful to actual characters, so it would have been cool to see what else they might have come up with.

The early scripts actually mentioned other Koopalings by name as previous underlings of Koopa who he had killed for their failures. It's rather amusing.

Wart and Bloober were the de-evolution technicians and once had prominent roles that were eventually just consolidated into Simon.

They really could have done a lot with the concept. It's a shame the sequel, let alone the early scripts, were never produced.
